ESCAP, CSTD and ITU will organise a joint open consultation entitled WSIS+20: 20 Years of Successes, Failures, and Expectations in the implementation of the WSIS Process as a side event of the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Digital Inclusion and Transformation.
This in person event will take place on 4 September 2024, 12:00-13:15 (UTC+5), in Astana, Kazakhstan.

The objective of the side event is to foster in-depth dialogue among stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific region on the implementation of the WSIS vision and outcomes, including discussing how the WSIS vision has evolved over the past 20 years and how emerging technologies impact progress towards its realisation.
The discussions will provide valuable inputs to the CSTD secretariat’s synthesis report that will inform the substantive discussion at the CSTD on WSIS+20 Review as requested by the ECOSOC.
